James Marks has extensive experience as an entrepreneur and an internationally recognized equity analyst. Currently President and Managing Member of Marks Baughan, Mr. Marks was one of the co-founders of SNL Securities, the leading independent research firm covering publicly traded financial services stocks. Mr. Marks moved to Wall Street as an equity analyst in 1993. In 1996, he became the first Wall Street analyst to cover electronic commerce and banking.

Mr. Marks was a Director and Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and Deutsche Banc Alex Brown. He was widely recognized as the leading analyst in his space, including being named by Mortgage Technology magazine as the top mortgage technologist of 1998 and by Future Banker magazine as one of the 25 most influential personalities in financial services. He has been regularly cited in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the American Banker and other trade periodicals and has been a frequent guest and presenter on CNBC and at trade meetings.

Mr. Marks left CSFB in 2001 to become the president of Belzberg Technologies prior to starting Marks. He served on the strategic planning committees for both CSFB and Deutsche Bank. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Fiberlink Communications and the Marks Colorectal Surgical Foundation.
